Description
This 1/4″ thick cream-colored soling material is the real thing – the rubber is from a rubber tree, with no dyes or anything else added. A thin 2-ounce vegetable-tanned topsole has been cemented to this soling.
These soles are meant to be hand-stitched to your shoe uppers.They have stitch holes punched in them in the same locations as those found in the CORE sole patterns. A groove on the bottom is not needed to protect stitches because the leather compresses when you stitch – but you have to give the thread a good “yank” at every stitch.
Before ordering soles, I suggest that you make a mock-up with a felt upper and cardboard sole (a used USPS flat-rate box is ideal), using the CORE upper pattern that corresponds to the sole that is 1/4″ loner than the length of your foot. If the mock-up fits you, then these soles will fit. If it doesn’t fit, you will need a custom sole, found in another listing.
